As of December 31, 2010, American International Life Assurance Company of New York (“AI Life”) merged into The United States Life Insurance Company in the City of New York (“USL”). Effective January 3, 2011, all registered AI Life variable annuity contracts and variable universal life insurance policies were re-registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as USL products. The state of New York has approved the merger, but regulatory approvals may still be pending in some jurisdictions. For a period of time following December 31, 2010, you may still see references to AI Life as we transition from AI Life to USL.
